Why one payment, not a subscription
A subscription is a promise that your library will have money every year forever. A lot of school libraries cannot make that promise, and the ones that try end up with a catalog held hostage to a renewal they missed.
Bookleaf runs entirely on your own computer. There is no hosting bill on our side, no storage growing every month, nothing we have to keep paying for on your behalf. So charging you every year would be a business model, not a cost.
You bought a program. It is on your computer. It keeps working.

A cloud library system billed per year will typically cost more in its first term than Bookleaf costs in total — and will stop working the moment the school's connection does. Koha costs nothing at all, but needs a server and someone who can keep Linux running. That comparison is written out here.
Questions
What schools ask before buying
- Is it really one payment?
- Yes. ₱1,499 is a one-time software license for the institution. Not per librarian, not per student, not per book, and not per year. There is no renewal date at which your catalog stops opening.
- Does the price include cloud hosting or paid services?
- No. ₱1,499 is the software license only — Bookleaf runs entirely on your own computer, over your own Wi-Fi. Cloud hosting, if you want remote access beyond the building, is a separate product priced separately. Migration help, on-site setup and staff training are separate services too, quoted on request.
- What happens after the trial ends?
- The trial runs the complete system for 7 days. When it ends, your data is untouched — the database file is yours and stays on your computer. Entering a licence key picks up exactly where you left off.
- Do we pay again for the next version?
- All version 1 updates are included. If there is ever a version 2 with a significant new scope, we will price it then and say so plainly — we will not convert this into a subscription after the fact.
- Can we pay from a school budget?
- Yes. Email us and we will issue whatever documentation your accounting office needs — a quotation, an invoice, or an official receipt — before or after purchase.
- What if it does not work for our library?
- That is what the 7-day trial is for, and why it is the full product rather than a crippled demo. If you pay and then hit something that genuinely does not work as described, write to us.
- Is there a discount for multiple schools?
- A division or a network running Bookleaf across several libraries should just email us. We would rather talk than publish a bracket that fits nobody.
